Jack Krawcheck's was the Charleston clothing store for gentlemen from 1922-1995. The store was located at 315 King Street.
Although the front entrance was on King Street, many entered through the rear wrought iron Philip Simmons gates and then into the courtyard. Frequently, garnets were take into the courtyard to examine their true color in the naturally diffused light.
The delivery bicycle remained in the rear courtyard for many years after it was retired for easier, but much less appealing, methods of delivery.
This image was taken in the back courtyard at Jack Krawcheck's in 1982.
