Ron Addlestone developed a passion for photography over 40 years ago. After retiring from a career in medicine, he is focusing on expanding his photographic interest.

His early interest in art photography was primarily with black and white imaging, working in a traditional landscape style. Even though monochrome (black and white) remains his personal preference, his work over the past two decades has expanded to include color and infrared. He has transitioned mainly to digital capture.

Having been born and raised in Charleston, S.C., photographing in the city and her surrounding low country has been, and continues to remain a deep interest. The “Charleston & Her Lowcountry” series is a collection of images spanning 40 years. It represents his interpretation of feelings from having been raised in this place and of its uniqueness. He is an exhibiting member of the Charleston Artist Guild.

In addition, the Southwest has special meaning to Ron. The peacefulness, starkly beautiful terrain, colors, and history combine to create another remarkable locale. His “Southwest-Four Corners & Beyond” photographs are reflections and observations of that alluring territory.

Water, ranging from ocean images, to rivers, streams, creeks, and reflecting ponds is a subject of growing interest. The peacefulness, power, and reflectiveness of water speaks to our emotions.
